Matt Hegarty

Matt Hegarty joins the team as a Program Director in Information Security for Royal Philips, a Dutch Health Tech company with their North American headquarters in Cambridge, MA. In his Cyber Security and Information Technology career, he has developed a reputation for team building, project management, and simplifying for business leaders the complex principles embedded in advanced technology disciplines. 

Matt has been involved with the Harvard Alumni community in several ways. He has been a long-time member of the Harvard Club of Boston, serving as board/executive committee member, chair of their budget & finance committee, and recently finished a term as the club’s 39th president (2019-2022). In addition, he serves on the class of 1982 reunion committee, and served as his Club’s HAA director from 2017-2019. 

As the Partnerships Director for Harvard Alumni in Climate and the Environment, Matt will be focused on forging relationships with Harvard Clubs and SIGs throughout the world to complement community-wide missions, resources, and alumni events. In addition, he seeks to learn more about climate and environmental challenges from his talented colleagues.

Matt majored in Philosophy, and graduated with the great Harvard College class of 1982, the last College class where everyone who applied got in!
