Michelle Faggert is passionate about unlocking the potential of the education sector as a force for climate action. As a Senior Program Associate for This Is Planet Ed at the Aspen Institute, Michelle helps envision schools across the country as spaces to empower the next generation of climate advocates and scientists. Prior to this role, she worked for the Center for Civics, Education, and Opportunity to build bipartisan coalitions of leaders across the country and as a Leadership for Educational Equity fellow at the DC Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education. Through Teach for America, she also served as science educator and department chair in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she taught 8th grade students of all backgrounds and abilities the essential role of science in today’s society. She has had the privilege of working for influential environmental nonprofits and organizations, including the White House Council on Environmental Quality, the Nature Conservancy, and the Sierra Club. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia and recently completed her Master of Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Michelle is currently working to earn a certificate in Clean Energy Financing and Deployment from Yale University.
